Academy Award® winning producer Cathy Schulman (CRASH, Best Picture 2006) is the President and CEO of Welle Entertainment. Schulman most recently produced Amazon’s hit romantic comedy, THE IDEA OF YOU, starring Anne Hathaway and directed by Michael Showalter. She also produced the epic action drama THE WOMAN KING (Sony) starring Viola Davis and was the showrunner and executive producer of the Showtime series THE FIRST LADY (2022), directed by Susanne Bier and starring Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Gillian Anderson. Welle also produced the YA hit drama FIVE FEET APART (Lionsgate) and Netflix hit comedy film OTHERHOOD, starring Angela Bassett, Patricia Arquette, and Felicity Huffman. Before founding Welle, Schulman served as the Head of Production for STX Entertainment, where she managed box office hit BAD MOMS and the critically acclaimed dramedy EDGE OF SEVENTEEN. Schulman’s many noteworthy producer credits include over 30 films and shows, including THE ILLUSIONIST and DARFUR NOW.

Before joining Welle, Roughan was a lauded independent producer, earning two Independent Spirit Award nominations, the Audience Award at the Los Angeles Film Festival, and the SilverDocs AFI Award for Best Music Documentary. She also served as Production Supervisor on Obi-Wan Kenobi for Lucasfilm and Killers of the Flower Moon during pre-production at Paramount. In the nonprofit arts, she produced content for the Sundance Institute and was a Producer in Residence at Film Independent. Roughan has also produced over 50 commercials and short-form social issue documentaries. She is a Sundance and Film Independent fellow and holds an MFA from UCLA, where she has taught as an Adjunct Professor.
